US Air Force bombers fly close to North Korea.
US Air Force B-1 bombers based in Guam flew close to North Korean airspace in an apparent show of force.
This is the farthest north of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) any U.S. fighter or bomber aircraft have flown off North Korea’s coast in the 21st century, underscoring the seriousness with which the US is taking the DPRK’s "reckless behavior".
This mission demontrated, in what the Pentagon said of "U.S. resolve and a clear message that the President has many military options to defeat any threat.
"North Korea’s weapons program is a grave threat to the Asia-Pacific region and the entire international community. We are prepared to use the full range of military capabilities to defend the U.S. homeland and our allies."
The move came as the North Korean Foreign Minister addressed the UN.
Earlier on Saturday, a "Seismic Event" took place in North Korea with experts unable to determine whether the cause was natural or man-made.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
