Sky News has been named as the Royal Television Society's News Channel of the Year for a record ninth time.
Sky News was also short-listed in a further two categories including News Coverage – Home, and News Technology.
Head of Sky News, John Ryley, said: “The RTS Awards are the major ceremony in the awards calendar where we are judged by our peers and are up against the toughest competition. Winning News Channel of the Year once more is testament to our brilliant team at Sky News who work tirelessly to produce multi-platform coverage with distinction and flair. This award is for everyone who works in the newsroom.”
The RTS judges added: “The winning entry stood out for the range of coverage, for hitting some of the year’s big issues early and in-depth, and for the energy and innovation evident in its approach to major events.”
